I am so excited to finally see a segment about arts education in the public schools on a television news program. PBS singles out North Carolina as an example of inconsistencies of the amount of time for the mandated arts; but point out the existence of the problem across the nation. The Recyclers: From Trash to Triumph
I hope you can watch the video below. This is the ultimate usage of "Assemblage" for survival; and it is all about the need for the visual and performing arts in schools. Ideas of resourcefulness, creativity, self-esteem, pride, smart work, and completely connecting to your personal environment is a grand necessity for success.
"Assemblage" is the 3-D version of "collage”. "Found object fragments," "discards," or "throwaways".

"These things are organized by their specific elements. The resulting groups are then arranged into compositions of [necessity]".
"Extending to many cultures of people living in family, religious, work, and various other groups; We could be viewed as a complex living version of "assemblage”(Webster 1. a group of persons or things gathered or collected)". "Art" is "Life".
